Navigable Rivers

Barge Traffic The Osceola Port Terminal represents the only slackwater harbor on the Mississippi River between Memphis and St. Louis. The channel depth is nine feet. The Mississippi River system carries the majority on the nation's inland waterway tonnage. Industrial sites near or at riverside are available.

Railroad

The Burlington-Northern/Sante Fe rail line services Osceola. The BNSF allows for North/South distribution and connnects with major East/West lines. BNSF currently services Osceola four times per day. Several industrial sites with rail service are available.

Road

Highway travel is what has increased Osceola's appeal to families and industries alike. It is connected by a three-mile, lighted stretch of four-lane highway to Interstate 55, and I-40 is only 43 miles to the south, making Osceola an easy drive to and from a number of cities. U.S. 61 as well as State Highways 140, 119, 239, and 325 run through Osceola.

In addition, over two dozen other motor carriers make stops in Osceola. The geographical area served by local carriers is all of the U.S. and Canada. The commodities being received by all substantial rail/truck shippers in the Osceola area are normally goods to be further processes and finished goods are shipped. Some pool shipments are available with contract carriers and the possibilities of back haul arrangements are very good since numerous industries are located here.

Air

AeroplexAirport facilities at the municipal airport include paved and lighted runways up to 3,800 feet long, with service and hangar facilities and charter air service available. Memphis International Ariport is just one hour and fifteen minutes and one stoplight away by highway and only twenty minutes by air. The Arkansas Aeroplex is located in Gosnell approximately 25 miles north of Osceola.
