Located at Wilson in southeast Mississippi County, the Museum exhibits a remarkable collection of prehistoric Indian artifacts dating from the 1300s. Excavated from the famous nearby Nodena site by Dr. James K. Hampson and his family during a 30-year period, starting in 1920, the collection was donated to the state in the 1950s.
Hampson Museum State Park houses and exhibits the archeological collections from the Nodena Site located in Mississippi County, Arkansas. Built in 1961, the Museum underwent extensive renovations in 1978.
