Director's Corner

Our 2009-2010 Series is progressing as we countdown to the second event—“Show Of Wonders: Magic and Illusion” featuring Rocky Clements.  That show will be at The Ritz on Saturday, October 10th at 7:00 pm .  Tickets have been mailed to Patrons and Sponsors, but are also available at The Ritz for only $10.00 each.  Remember that this year we are admitting children 12 and under free to our Series events with a ticketed adult.

But that’s in the future, and this is a “Review!”  So, what happened in September around here?

We hosted our Artists Reception for our Summer Childrens’ Photo Workshop participants on Sept. 3rd.  The students were obviously quite proud of what they accomplished under the leadership or our Board Member and professional photographer Richard Schlosser.

We had a couple of rentals early in the month.  The weekend of the 18th, ACT2! offered their successful production of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” directed by Candie Groves and JD Harris.

On the 26th Ken coordinated a presentation of our “Support Live Music” series.  It has become increasingly difficult to locate bands for these events, having them every three months.  It was announced at this production that it will be up to the garage bands themselves to determine if and when we host the next “Support Live Music.”  When they can have enough bands to participate, we will get it scheduled and publicized.  This event has been quite successful for five years, and we will continue it when the need arises.

On September 27th-29th I attended an invitational Choral Conference at The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg , along with Dr. Andy Jensen and twelve choral students from Arkansas Northeastern College .  It was a great opportunity and experience for these area students.

Become a 2009-2010 Patron
