Arkansas's Career and College Planning System - Arkansas Works

In early November, Governor Mike Beebe announced Arkansas's Career and College Planning System, powered by Kuder®, the next phase of Arkansas Works. Arkansas's Career and College Planning System is a statewide initiative that will equip students and adults with the skills and education required for the opportunities that await them. Similar initiatives have been highly successful in other states.

A critical component of this new initiative is Connect 2 Business®  (C2B), a tool that helps adults find employment and students find internships and apprenticeships with local businesses.  In turn, C2B provides businesses access to a pipeline of skilled workers, allows businesses to showcase themselves and their career opportunities, and helps students connect the relevance of their coursework to the real world of work.

C2B will put you in front of thousands of students and adults to generate awareness about local opportunities and connect your organization with a pipeline of skilled and educated Arkansans. C2B integrates seamlessly into the Arkansas College and Career Planning System  to support the state’s Arkansas Works initiative and turn students’ and adults’ career plans into reality.

You can empower a student to succeed by providing extended learning opportunities (ELO) which demonstrate the relevance of school in the world of work. A student’s current situation does not have to dictate their conclusion. You can redirect their future by enrolling in C2B, an internet-based mechanism that connects students with the WOW in the world of work.  ELOs, such as mentoring and career exploration, help students understand the relevance of what they are learning. When school becomes “cool,” students are empowered to succeed.

How can you become a part of the C2B community? Getting involved in C2B is easy and FREE to all businesses in the state of Arkansas.
